For our very first post, we’d like to take you back to where it all began.

🔥 The Beginning – 2012 Hong Kong Hip Hop Culture

Everything started back in 2012.

At that time, there was a lack of freestyle rap events in Hong Kong. Many talented freestyle MCs had very limited opportunities to perform live in front of an audience. Most of them could only showcase their skills through digital platforms like YouTube and Facebook.

We saw the gap — and we decided to do something about it.

Our goal was simple: 👉 Create more live hip hop events and give artists a real stage.

🎤 The First Event – CANTO MIC 2012

Our very first event was a Cantonese freestyle rap battle:

As organizers, we needed a formal identity — and that’s how
XLARGE LIVE MUSIC AND EVENT MANAGEMENT was born.

It marked our first step into the Hong Kong event industry.

Even today, it’s amazing to see that some of the MCs and rappers from that era are still active — and many of them have grown bigger and more influential in the scene.
